About That's My Backpack

I looked everywhere for a kids’ backpack that ticked every box: Style, practicality, and personalisation. And when I couldn’t find it... I made it myself.

Hi! I’m Frances 👋

I'm a mum to three girls and founder of That's My Backpack. My background? Fifteen years as a registered nurse turned pharmaceutical sales rep in the corporate world.

My weakness? A neutral, minimalist aesthetic and timeless pieces you only have to buy once – the kind that just quietly do their job and look good doing it.

I resisted the whole backpack mum life for as long as I could. Lets be honest - most kids backpacks are bright, loud and visually jarring. I told myself that wasn't going to be me, because let's be real I'm the one that's going to be carrying it. Then daycare happened, and reality set in.

I searched the world for a beautiful, personalised keepsake backpack for my daughter – something understated, timeless and worth carrying. It didn't exist. I found a couple of options overseas, but none I loved. So, I made my own.

Seven months (and plenty of samples) later, That's My Backpack was born. Female-founded and run locally here in WA, we create personalised toddler backpacks that bring quiet luxury to everyday essentials. Thoughtfully designed for daycare, kindy and everything in between.

We kept the function. We softened the aesthetic. Crafted in our signature buttery-soft corduroy, each backpack is a considered, timeless keepsake – for them, and for you.
